Will my donation be tax-deductible in the U.S.?
Yes, the Ada Initiative is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit and donations to us are tax deductible in the U.S. Our EIN is 45-1135048.
Can I get my company to match my donation?
Many companies match employee donations to tax-exempt non-profits. The Ada Initiative qualifies for these matching programs.

When can I donate?
We accept donations year-round. We occasionally run special donation drives with thank-you gifts and matching sponsorships for a limited time.
Can I or my company publicly get credit for my donation or be listed as an Ada Initiative sponsor?
We offer public recognition through our sponsorship packages: either the Venture Philanthropist sponsorship scheme or higher value sponsorship packages. Please see those pages for more information.
Do you accept donations by check?
We accept donations of $100 or more by check. We regret that we cannot accept smaller amounts by check due to the cost of handling checks.

Do you accept donations in Bitcoin?
Bitcoin is a online payment system and digital currency. Some donors have expressed interest in donating in Bitcoin, but we have decided not to accept Bitcoin donations for the foreseeable future. The legal and tax issues surrounding a non-profit accepting and spending Bitcoins remain unclear and therefore the overhead of accepting Bitcoin donations and spending them on our programs would be very high. In 2011, the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) made a similar decision for similar reasons.
