The Ada Initiative is pleased to announce its first program development funding, from open source community group, Linux Australia.
Linux Australia is the central body representing Linux User Groups (LUGs) around Australia, and supports open source conferences including LCA (linux.conf.au), DrupalDownUnder, WordCamp and PyCon AU. The Ada Initiative is thrilled to have Linux Australia as our first program development sponsor.
We see the Ada Initiatives work in advocating for women as really crucial to open source and open technology in general,” says Linux Australia Council President John Ferlito. By being early contributors to the Ada Initiative, Linux Australia hopes to show that the community supports the Ada Initiative, and encourage further sponsorship offers.”
The Ada Initiative is seeking a small number of sponsors for its program development round in the first half of 2011 to provide staff and material costs for its its project planning and forthcoming main sponsorship round, which will fund the Ada Initiatives projects until at least 2013. Interested potential sponsors for either the program development or main sponsorship rounds are invited to contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
