We are so proud of our AdaCamp DC attendees that we decided to make an anonymized map of where they are all from, including Japan, South Africa, Tunisia, Egypt, India, Myanmar, Argentina, Spain, Italy, the UK, Canada, and the U.S. AdaCamp DC applications are open until June 22nd, 2012.
Our attendees are all over the map in other ways: they are university students and professors and self-taught, fan fiction writers and software developers and Wikipedia editors, hobbyists and CEOs and consultants. They come from projects like Mozilla and OpenStreetMap and the Organization for Transformative Works, and companies like Facebook and Yammer and the Wikimedia Foundation.
If you’d like to join this amazing group of people, apply for AdaCamp DC before applications close on June 22, 2012!
(Note: The locations are hand-placed and not accurate to better than several miles.)
The Ada Initiative thanks our AdaCamp DC sponsors for making the event possible.
Thank you to our Gold level sponsor the Wikimedia Foundation.
Thank you to our Silver level sponsors: the Linux Foundation, Intel, Facebook, Red Hat, Collabora and Yammer.
